I have been lacking in LEGO activity the past month or so due to various reasons. However, I thought I would take a quick look at some of the upcoming and new sets. I wish I hadn't, this might be costly. Here are some of the sets that caught my eye.
43245 - THE MAGICAL MADRIGAL HOUSE - £139.99
Is this a bit too similar to 43202 which I already have tucked away in my forest section of my LEGO city? It is treble the size though with 1560 pieces compared to the 587 pieces of the now retired set. This one also comes with a number of minifigures - Abuela, Mirabel, Isabela, Dolores, Luisa, Camilo, Antonio. I know they don't talk about Bruno, but where is he?!
21061 - NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS - £199.99
The LEGO Architecture sets are always wonderful, and this looks no difference. However I do like to buy these sets if they have a bit of meaning to me, having not been to Notre-Dame maybe this will have to sit on the back burner for a while - off to the wish list you go.
40752 - CARL, RUSSELL & KEVIN - £17.99
Iconic film, check! Cheap, check! Ordered, check!
40749 - JOY, SADNESS & ANXIETY - £17.99
As above! Although I have yet to watch Inside Out 2!!
76297 - DANCING GROOT - £39.99
Oh I love this one, all these sets have snuck up on me. LEGO are upping their game.
31213 - MONA LISA - £89.99
If I ever have my own way and I get myself a dedicated LEGO room then this will be hanging proudly on my wall. As I don't have such a room, this is another pipe dream set. It isn't out until October though, so who knows what the future will bring.
60407 - RED DOUBLE-DECKER SIGHTSEEING BUS - £24.99
This is a cute 384 piece set. I would like to have this one as well, but I fear it will be stuck in its box hidden away at the back of my wardrobe. LEGO certainly tests your houses storage limits.
60423 - DOWNTOWN STREETCAR AND STATION - £79.99
This is a lovely set, and a man and his guide dog? Come on, that is very, very cool. Potentially a little too pricy for me for what it is though, other sets will take priority over this.
21350 - JAWS - £129.99
As I was writing this blog I noticed someone post a video on Twitter. I actually thought it was a fan made video, but hell no, LEGO Ideas are bringing this bad boy out. What an amazing looking set. I am biased as that film haunted and captivated me in so many ways back in my younger years. I still won't go too far into any water, even if I was in Bournemouth. This set has just beaten all the above and has shot to the top of my list.
I have a lot to ponder here, and that is even before I think of my honourable mentions - the Harry Potter Mandrake, Retro Radio, Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossom.
