Press Wankers - Team Millie Gibson

How do newspapers still have readers? I mean this across the board, right wing papers, left wing papers, somewhere in the middle papers - if there is such a thing these days. What a disgrace they all are, and shame on us for keeping them in business. Fuck them anyway, I am on team Millie Gibson!

All the papers have been merrily reporting the past couple of days that Varada Sethu was joining Doctor Who as a new companion to Ncuti Gatwa to form part of a TARDIS threesome. All well and good, but none of them seem to have backtracked on their reports from a few months ago. Millie Gibson sacked, Millie Gibson dropped, all of these reported with no confirmation from the Doctor Who team or the BBC.

"BBC make decision on Millie Gibson" apparently. What decision? They never made a decision!! You lot made it all up!! They really have no shame!!!

There was another report a few months prior to this labeling her a diva. An insider apparently said “No one could question Millie’s commitment to Doctor Who, but there is a lot of pressure coming into a role like this. She is determined to get it right. But the days are long and at times, when night filming has been suggested, she has made her feelings clear. Millie is a pro on set and although night shoots are part of the job, they can be tiring for even the most experienced actors."

“She won’t be the first or last person to be a bit annoyed by a night shoot, but it has won her some snippy comments behind the scenes. The word ‘diva’ has been used once or twice when tempers are fraying. Everyone on set wants the show to be as good as it can be within the time frame they have, and that does take its toll on people at times.”

So this to me says a young woman in a grueling, perhaps career defining/making roll has got tired after a number of night shoots on a demanding show. Fuck me, who hasn't had a little moan now and again that they are tired. I know I get out of bed for work most days having a moan. This just smacks of making a headline out of fuck all.

I am sure Millie is made of far stronger stuff than me, and hopefully this is water off a ducks back for her, but truly this treatment of her from the press is disturbing. I know, it is nothing new at all, and especially so for successful young women, but it makes my blood boil, especially when it involves the greatest show in the Universe!

All this and she has only been in one episode so far. I wish her all the luck in the World and look forward to joining her on her adventures through time and space.
