Tales of the TARDIS - The Pyramids of Mars

I just wanted to say a few things as I watched this. First off, I'll level with you, my Classic Who knowledge is quite limited.

I was born in the early 80's and my first memories of Doctor Who are Daleks hovering up stairs to attack the seventh Doctor and Ace being locked in something that was very quickly filling up with water. I have watched a few of the previous Tales of the TARDIS episodes and brought a few DVD's of the First Doctor when I was younger with more money to spend!! My Fourth Doctor knowledge is very poor but for watching clips here and there.

What I do know from my limited viewing of older episodes is that it is very much the magic show that I am used to, and one day I would love to go through more and more classic episodes.

I didn't get much from the introduction here, do we think this will be linked to Empire of Death in that it continues on from a scene? They don't seem to be in the same clothes, but then we all know Fifteen does love a wardrobe change. I kind of hope not, as I think that would be unfair to fans outside of the UK. It does seem a bit bonkers that these haven't been beamed across the world on Disney as well. It isn't that easy of course, but I think it would be great if Disney did get more of a back catalogue of Who, even if it just went back to 2005.

All throughout this I realised why Tom and Elisabeth were so popular, they are a great pairing. Sarah-Jane Smith and Four, you have a new fan here.

You can see the blueprint for modern Doctors in Tom Baker's performance, the way he delivers his lines, he is bloody hilarious. Yet he can turn on a sixpence and be a bolshy bastard.

One thing I love about the classic Who I have seen is the deaths. I love a slightly corny and dramatic scream. An absolute delight.

Sutekh was a mean Mother Hubbard as well and this got me even more excited for tonight. All through this I was picturing a young RTD glued to his little TV screen, thinking up ideas. Ideas that we are about to see. So on that note, I am off to buy a big box of Maltesers for my trip to the cinema tonight!!!! Let's go!!!
