Their coming home, their coming home, their coming, the Doctor's coming home...! Oh good lord my autism is in overdrive today!!
There is seemingly a lot of hate about the new way we will get our access to the new series - mid night drops, Disney+, iPlayer and the like, but rather than join the pile on I got thinking about times gone by when the Doctor had to face off against football never quite coming home (except once). This is a problem old Fifteen won't really have to face, as if you are a football and Doctor Who fan you can watch the Doctor and Ruby around the games.
So for reasons unknown I have compiled the most useless list of every episode that aired when a match from a major tournament took place on the same day and what matches they were. What does this list mean? Does it tell us anything? I think the answer to that is not a lot, other than David Tennant had a lot of football to contend against and Tom Baker had none, but I had a lot of fun making it all the same.
"So many jokes, so many cheers,
The music of the spheres,
Build you up, through the years,
And I still see hear that speech from Matt Smith,
And when Yaz didn't score, David meeting the fifth,
And Ncuti dancing...!!"
That is terrible, my sincere apologies for that!!!! Please just feast your eyes on the Doctor, the World Cup and the European Championships.
